ABOUT DENNIS EKSTROM

Dennis Ekstrom was a central figure in the Laguna Beach artist community, specifically those who had their studios up and down Highway 133 or "the canyon road." Along with his wife Cheryl, Dennis created abstracts that featured the restraint of a limited color palette along with a technique that caused the paint to crack while remaining intact - a work of pure chemistry the Ekstrom learned from decades of working with industrial paints. Ekstrom passed away in 2011 leaving behind works housed in some of the finest private and public collections in California.
